Kraft Foods is the official sponsor for the Texas Stadium implosion. The Irvin City Council in Texas unanimously approved that Kraft will be the main and official sponsor for stadium demolition, says the Dallas Morning News.
Kraft will lunch a national easy contest for children and will also spend almost 1 million dollars for marketing and advertising of the demolition event.
Laurie Kunke, the Irvin Director of Communication, said that “the winner of the contest will get to trigger the detonation at the public demolition”. She also said that they still didn’t set a final date for the stadium demolition because asbestos materials are still removed from the Texas Stadium, and if demolition will start now it can cause serious health damages for people around.
Dallas Morning News said that the implosion will probably be between March 14 and April 18. The Dallas Morning News also said that if the demolition date is not respected by the Irving City Council the contract will terminate and the Irving must refund the sponsorship fee.
The Director of Communication at Irving City Council said that the event of stadium demolition will be set on January 13 work session.
Kraft will pay Irving City Council $75,000 sponsorship fee “prior to the demolition for charities selected by the city”.
The Kraft Company will also give another $75,000 “worth of Kraft products for local charities of its choice”.
Demolition safety measures will be very strict, and the workers in the implosion project are known to be professionals. Also for the asbestos removal of the Texas Stadium professional workers have been contracted so the removal to be safe.
