A mesothelioma of a worker against his company was reopened. This case was between an employee of DuPont who died due to mesothelioma in 1970 Vs his company. The victim was a refinery worker who was diagnosed for mesothelioma and died due to the disease. Mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer which is incurable and has severe results and death in majority of the cases. After the death of the victim his family sued the company they alleged was responsible. The jury gave the decision in the favor of company in 2008 and it seemed that DuPont de Nemours were relieved but the trial judge disagreed with the jury and turned down the decision and granted a request for a new trial.
The new trial will be help in Jefferson County, Texas, is now temporarily on hold. The trial judge for this trial is Donald Floyd who issued the continuance on the request of plaintiff’s attorneys. Southeast Texas Record who are the lawyers for the family of Willis Whisnant, Jr., told that the continuance was granted in order to ensure justice. The asbestos lawsuit was filed by Whisnant’s daughter, Caryl Richardson.
