Former Pipefitter in Texas Dies after Suffering from Mesothelioma

This plumber died 9 months after he received the mesothelioma diagnosis. This happened on the 29th of August 2009, in California. It is possible that Quincy James, 76, died as a result of being exposed in the 1950’s, when he was working as a plumber. The pipefitter worked for 7 years in this job, in order to pay for school, at the University of Houston and the South Texas College of Law.

This citizen was not free of illness even before his asbestos related disease. He was diagnosed with polio when he was only 18 months old, but, his daughter says, has never stopped him from achieving his goals.

He was not treated for his childhood illness for nearly two years, and that left him with one shorter leg. This did not stop him from becoming a very successful boxer during his time at the University of Houston.

Approximately twenty years, James was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This was another illness he dealt with without complaining. In the memory of his loved ones, he will always be remembered as a man dedicated to helping others and helping them solve their problems.

He was involved in police activity in Pasadena, California for more than 4 years, being city Commissioner and police commissioner. Even the mayor of his town remembers James a very competent public servant, always at the disposal of everyone. James, the Mayor says, was also a great citizen.

The reverend at James’s church remembers the deceased as a man with the fear of God. He was always present at all of the reverend’s conferences. The funeral is scheduled to be held on the second of September, at Sagemont Church in Houston, Texas.
