We are talking about the Science Park at Research Valley, who is still vacant and waits for the Lynnetech Company, a local enterprise, to move in to the building, from one month ago.
Lynnetech is a company that’s focused on energy, water and health innovation, a research and development company that wants to occupy building and to create lab spaces for their research work.
The building is vacant from more then a decade and it was formally used by Westinghouse. The economical development director of the Science Park said that he understands that moving, for a company that big like Lynnetech, will take longer then expected and they offer all the necessary support to move as soon as possible. Lynethech Company has purchased the Science Park facilities in March, but because of the asbestos and mold presence moving was delayed.
The asbestos and mold materials present in the building construction are the main reason why the building stayed unoccupied that long. Also the age of the structure is one of the reasons for being unoccupied by companies.
First asbestos should be clean up from the building because is a dangerous material and as we know asbestos exposure can lead to asbestosis and mesothelioma cancer, a rare form of cancer that kills United States people every year. Asbestos is interdicted by law, so this is the fist thing to to with the Science Park building, clean it up.
Mesothelioma cancer is a rare form of cancer and it can cause death in most cases, if undetected on time. Asbestos related deases are killing people every year, workers who had been exposed to asbestos developed mesothelioma cancer. It is very important to clean up the asbestos so Lynnetech can start researching. Mesothelioma lawyers from Texas where contacted to set the asbestos removal operation and specialized personnel will remove every piece of asbestos and mold out from the building.
The 180,000 square foot building will remain vacant until early 2010.
